Remember, vertical are the angles that are opposite of one another in the picture, and they have the SAME measurement.

In EVERY picture with 2 parallel lines and a transversal, there are 8 angles formed.  4 of the angles are acute and have the same measurement, and 4 of the angles are obtuse and have the same measurements.

transversal: a line that crosses two or MORE parallel lines

adjacent angles: angles right next to each other.  they CAN be supplementary

vertical angles: angles across from each other and they are congruent

corresponding angles: angles on the same side of the transversal and in the same location near its parallel line.
